Theotokos of Vladimir Icon γ

Tracy calls this the nuclear icon, because I can't see the red and the red is way more intense than represented by the picture. I used oil based oil for the metalic gold, and changed the veil to red, as well as reformed baby jesus and added a hand on baby jesus' tooshy. Lots of work on the face and shapign of the head as well as a primer strip that i used for coloring. I may change the veils color to dark navy. Red is too hard for this poor color blind painter. Not my fault i dont have enough red-green cones. 2007/09/20
