Hello

I am currently 24, born May 2nd, 1979 and work for a life insurance company in Lansing, MI. I was born in Ann Arbor and grew up in Hamburg, a district of Pinckney, until the 5th grade, when I moved to Jackson, and then graduated from East Jackson High School EJHS in 1997. After high school, I attend Oakland University for two years, working as a tutor and doing mathematical research while I pursued a double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. I transferred to the University of Michigan, College of Engineering in December 1999 to pursue Computer Engineering exclusively, and worked during the summers for a Linux-solutions and government contract company. In January 2000, I accepted a position for Intel Corporation and relocated to Sacramento, CA to work, and to take a semester hiatus from the university. During that summer, my research from Oakland University was published. In the fall, I returned to the University of Michigan to complete my Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering. After returning to school, I worked for a PR Firm downtown Ann Arbor, doing contract work for General Motors and Daimler Chrysler, specializing in PR Technologies. During my senior year, I taught an undergraduate course in the School of Technical Writing at the University of Michigan for two semesters, and then completed my BSCE in December 2002.

Once my degree was finished, I traveled the western states for four months, taking pictures and writing a book, until I returned to Michigan in late July. After returning, I worked as a photographer's assistant part time and participated in many projects for the New York Times, until I accept the current position in Lansing where I am currently employed.

This website, havenofbliss.com, has a long trail of events leading to its current inception. Initially, it began as a Geocities free homepage in a community named, "The Tropics," and hence the name, "Wyatt's Haven of Bliss in The Tropics," naturally followed. It existed as a ten static page site, with animated gif palm trees, synthesized midi praise songs, and humiliating pictures of myself. As I developed the initial webpage, I also developed a mIRC script, Christian Command, which quickly grew in popularity, and gave the, "whb,"website a purpose. I hosted the script at Geocites, and then moved the website to Oakland.edu after I moved on campus, and then it again moved to umich.edu while I was at the University of Michigan. In 2000, I finally purchased the domain, havenofbliss.com, while I worked in Sacramento. Havenofbliss has grown from a personal homepage, to a site that contains writing, photography, software and useful web tools like search engines and webpage tutorials.

Another important facet of my life, and integral part of who I am, is my faith in Jesus Christ as my savior and only hope, purpose and being in life. I was raised in a Christian home, and was baptized in first grade. I grew up in Bethel Church of God, in Brighton, and then Jackson Church of God, in Jackson after I moved there in the 5th grade. After a couple years, my family returned to Bethel Church of God, and I remained an active member until I attended Oakland University. When I was a teen, the Church's youth camp showed me what a "relationship with Jesus Christ," was possible and that it was something I desired for myself. I attended the camp several years as a camper, and then several years as a councilor. Additional, the leaders of my youth group at Bethel and Jackson influenced me tremendously and I attribute much of my faith to their investment in me. I became an active member of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship IVCF at Oakland University in the fall of 1997, and began to study the word, and lead a bible study. I continued with IVCF throughout Oakland and during my years at the University of Michigan. During the time in California, I was an active member of the Capital Christian Center, an Assemblies of God church and facilitator of Chi Alpha XA Christian Fellowship. For the past few years, I have been a member of the Ann Arbor Vineyard, and an active leader in IVCF.
