1:1 [3972] Paul, a [1401] servant of [2316] God, and an [0652] apostle of [2424] Jesus [5547] Christ, [2596] according to the [4102] faith of [2316] God's [1588] elect, and the [1922] acknowledging of the [0225] truth [3588] which is [2596] after [2150] godliness;
1:2 In [1680] hope of [0166] eternal [2222] life, [3739] which [2316] God, that [0893] cannot [0893] lie, [1861] promised [4253] before the [0166] world began;
1:3 But hath in [2398] due [2540] times [5319] manifested his [3056] word [1722] through [2782] preaching, [3739] which is [4100] committed unto me [2596] according to the [2003] commandment of [2316] God our [4990] Saviour;
1:4 To [5103] Titus, mine [1103] own [5043] son [2596] after the [2839] common [4102] faith: [5485] Grace, [1656] mercy, and [1515] peace, from [2316] God the [3962] Father and the [2962] Lord [2424] Jesus [5547] Christ our [4990] Saviour.
1:5 For [5127] this [5484] cause [2641] left I thee in [2914] Crete, that thou shouldest [1930] set in [1930] order the things that are [3007] wanting, and [2525] ordain [4245] elders in [2596] every [4172] city, as I had [1299] appointed thee:
1:6 [1487] If [1536] any be [0410] blameless, the [0435] husband of [3391] one [1135] wife, [2192] having [4103] faithful [5043] children not [2724] accused of [0810] riot [2228] or [0506] unruly.
1:7 For a [1985] bishop [1163] must be [0410] blameless, as the [3623] steward of [2316] God; not [0829] selfwilled, not [3711] soon [3711] angry, not [3943] given to [3943] wine, [3361] no [4131] striker, not given to [0150] filthy [0146] lucre;
1:8 But a [5382] lover of [5382] hospitality, a [5358] lover of [5358] good men, [4998] sober, [1342] just, [3741] holy, [1468] temperate;
1:9 [0472] Holding [0472] fast the [4103] faithful [3056] word as he hath been [1322] taught, that he may be [1415] able by [5198] sound [1319] doctrine [2532] both to [3870] exhort and to [1651] convince the [0483] gainsayers.
1:10 For there are [4183] many [0506] unruly and [3151] vain [3151] talkers and [5423] deceivers, [3122] specially they of the [4061] circumcision:
1:11 [3739] Whose [1993] mouths [1163] must be [1993] stopped, [3748] who [0396] subvert [3650] whole [3624] houses, [1321] teaching things [3739] which they [1163] ought not, for [0150] filthy [2771] lucre's sake.
1:12 [5100] One of [0846] themselves, even a [4396] prophet of their [2398] own, [2036] said, The [2912] Cretians are [0104] alway [5583] liars, [2556] evil [2342] beasts, [0692] slow [1064] bellies.
1:13 [3778] This [3141] witness is [0227] true. [3739] Wherefore [1651] rebuke them [0664] sharply, that they may be [5198] sound in the [4102] faith;
1:14 Not giving [4337] heed to [2451] Jewish [3454] fables, and [1785] commandments of [0444] men, that [0654] turn from the [0225] truth.
1:15 Unto the [2513] pure [3956] all things are [2513] pure: but unto them that are [3392] defiled and [0571] unbelieving is [3762] nothing [2513] pure; but [2532] even their [3563] mind and [4893] conscience is [3392] defiled.
1:16 They [3670] profess that they [1492] know [2316] God; but in [2041] works they [0720] deny him, [5607] being [0947] abominable, and [0545] disobedient, and unto [3956] every [0018] good [2041] work [0096] reprobate.
2:1 But [2980] speak thou the things [3739] which [4241] become [5198] sound [1319] doctrine:
2:2 That the [4246] aged men be [3524] sober, [4586] grave, [4998] temperate, [5198] sound in [4102] faith, in [0026] charity, in [5281] patience.
2:3 The [4247] aged [4247] women [5615] likewise, that they be in [2688] behaviour as [2412] becometh [2412] holiness, not [1228] false [1228] accusers, not [1402] given to [4183] much [3631] wine, [2567] teachers of [2567] good things;
2:4 That they may [4994] teach the [3501] young women to be [4994] sober, to [5362] love their [5362] husbands, to [5388] love their [5388] children,
2:5 To be [4998] discreet, [0053] chaste, [3626] keepers [3626] at [3626] home, [0018] good, [5293] obedient to their [2398] own [0435] husbands, that the [3056] word of [2316] God be not [0987] blasphemed.
2:6 [3501] Young men [5615] likewise [3870] exhort to be [4993] sober [4993] minded.
2:7 In [3956] all things [3930] shewing [4572] thyself a [5179] pattern of [2570] good [2041] works: in [1319] doctrine shewing [0090] uncorruptness, [4587] gravity, [0861] sincerity,
2:8 [5199] Sound [3056] speech, that [0176] cannot be [0176] condemned; that he that is of the [1727] contrary part may be [1788] ashamed, [2192] having [3367] no [5337] evil thing to [3004] say of you.
2:9 Exhort [1401] servants to be [5293] obedient unto their [2398] own [1203] masters, and to [1511] please them [2101] well in [3956] all things; not [0483] answering [0483] again;
2:10 Not [3557] purloining, but [1731] shewing [3956] all [0018] good [4102] fidelity; that they may [2885] adorn the [1319] doctrine of [2316] God our [4990] Saviour in [3956] all things.
2:11 For the [5485] grace of [2316] God that [4992] bringeth [4992] salvation hath [2014] appeared to [3956] all [0444] men,
2:12 [3811] Teaching us that, [0720] denying [0763] ungodliness and [2886] worldly [1939] lusts, we should [2198] live [4996] soberly, [1346] righteously, and [2153] godly, in [3588] this [3568] present [0165] world;
2:13 [4327] Looking for that [3107] blessed [1680] hope, and the [1391] glorious [2015] appearing of the [3173] great [2316] God and our [4990] Saviour [2424] Jesus [5547] Christ;
2:14 [3739] Who [1325] gave [1438] himself for us, that he might [3084] redeem us from [3956] all [0458] iniquity, and [2511] purify unto [1438] himself a [4041] peculiar [2992] people, [2207] zealous of [2570] good [2041] works.
2:15 [5023] These things [2980] speak, and [3870] exhort, and [1651] rebuke with [3956] all [2003] authority. Let [3367] no [3367] man [4065] despise thee.
3:1 [5279] Put them in [5279] mind to be [5293] subject to [0746] principalities and [1849] powers, to [3980] obey [3980] magistrates, to be [2092] ready to [3956] every [0018] good [2041] work,
3:2 To [0987] speak [0987] evil of [3367] no [3367] man, to be [0269] no [0269] brawlers, but [1933] gentle, [1731] shewing [3956] all [4236] meekness unto [3956] all [0444] men.
3:3 For we [2249] ourselves [2532] also were [4218] sometimes [0453] foolish, [0545] disobedient, [4105] deceived, [1398] serving [4164] divers [1939] lusts and [2237] pleasures, [1236] living in [2549] malice and [5355] envy, [4767] hateful, and [3404] hating [0240] one [0240] another.
3:4 But [3753] after that the [5544] kindness and [5363] love of [2316] God our [4990] Saviour [4314] toward man [2014] appeared,
3:5 Not by [2041] works of [1343] righteousness [3739] which we have [4160] done, but [2596] according to his [1656] mercy he [4982] saved us, by the [3067] washing of [3824] regeneration, and [0342] renewing of the [0040] Holy [4151] Ghost;
3:6 [3739] Which he [1632] shed [1909] on us [4146] abundantly [1223] through [2424] Jesus [5547] Christ our [4990] Saviour;
3:7 That being [1344] justified by his [5485] grace, we should be [1096] made [2818] heirs [2596] according to the [1680] hope of [0166] eternal [2222] life.
3:8 [3588] This is a [4103] faithful [3056] saying, and [5130] these things I [1014] will that thou [1226] affirm [1226] constantly, that they which have [4100] believed in [2316] God might be [5431] careful to [4291] maintain [2570] good [2041] works. [5023] These things are [2570] good and [5624] profitable unto [0444] men.
3:9 But [4026] avoid [3474] foolish [2214] questions, and [1076] genealogies, and [2054] contentions, and [3163] strivings [3163] about the [3544] law; for they are [0512] unprofitable and [3152] vain.
3:10 A [0444] man that is an [0141] heretick [3326] after the [3391] first and [1208] second [3559] admonition [3868] reject;
3:11 [1492] Knowing that he that is [5108] such is [1612] subverted, and [0264] sinneth, [5607] being [0843] condemned of [0843] himself.
3:12 [3752] When I shall [3992] send [0734] Artemas unto thee, [2228] or [5190] Tychicus, be [4704] diligent to [2064] come unto me to [3533] Nicopolis: for I have [2919] determined [1563] there to winter.
3:13 [4311] Bring [2211] Zenas the [3544] lawyer and [0625] Apollos on their journey [4708] diligently, that [3367] nothing be [3007] wanting unto them.
3:14 And let [2251] ours [2532] also [3129] learn to [4291] maintain [2570] good [2041] works for [0316] necessary [5532] uses, that they be not [0175] unfruitful.
3:15 [3956] All that are with me [0782] salute thee. [0782] Greet them that [5368] love us in the [4102] faith. [5485] Grace be with you [3956] all. [0281] Amen.
